Well it has been over a month since my last blog and now that Christian is safely in Korea things here in Colorado have slowed down. So I thought that now that I have all this new free time I can finally update the blog. OK so......
On June 5th Connor was baptized at our Church here in the Springs, it was wonderful. Of course he was just perfect! Connor also got to meet more of his Great Grand parents. My Grandparents Memere and Pepere as well as Christian's Grandmother Dora. It was really neat for Connor to see them all. They stayed at the house with us so they got to spend a lot of time with him. Then after that The Riley's came back up for a week, we had a great time. We celebrated Gloria's birthday, we rented a cabin in a little mountain town called Buena Vista, it was beautiful. Then the next weekend Christian's close friend and his wife, Lauren and Nathan came to see us! We had a great time catching up. They came in real handy when Roxy got sick and we had to take her to the emergency vet! She had to stay the night but she is doing much much much better. After that we were off to my parents house for a few days around the fourth of July. It was great to see them as well as Connor's Uncle Ben. Of course Connor went swimming at Nana's and Papa's house. I would have to say that he is becoming a little fish, he loves the water! Then there was another milestone....Christian and I left Connor OVERNIGHT with my parents. They did a great job watching the little guy. I will admit I miss him a lot but it was nice to get away for the night. We really appreciated Ben, Mom and Dad taking such good care of him. Oh and sending me pictures of the little monkey:0)!! Then it was time to come back to the Springs and get ready to send Christian off.
July 9th Christian left for Korea, we miss him tons, but we are so blessed for all the time that we have spent as a family. I am a lucky army wife, yes my husband is gone but there are so many other wives out there that have it so much harder and it is humbling. I know Christian is just far away. And I know that I will get to see him again. Connor and I are staying busy and I know that this time apart will just fly by.Christian and I as well as Connor are so lucky to have such a wonderful family that is so supportive and caring. Thanks you all for all the warm wishes to Christian over the last few day. We love you all very much.
Connor is doing great he is turning into this happy, energetic, independent little boy. He is not crawling yet but man is he close. But don't worry he gets to where he needs to go! He loves to eat with his fingers and we have moved on to cheese, yogurt, meat, pasta and all the other fun foods. He babbles all the time now. He consistently says Dada and he has said Mama a few times. Connor loves to play with his toys as well as the dogs and the cat!
I know for sure that he is my son!! When I was about his age my Uncle Gary came in to get me after a nap, I had taken off my diaper and was covered in poop, well today history repeated itself. I went to get Connor after his morning nap and sure enough he had done the same thing. I guess the apple does not fall far from the tree. All I can say is this little guy does a great job at keeping me busy. It still amazes me how much he has grown in the last few months. Well I think that I have summarized the last month and a half. Enjoy all the pictures below.
