9 Months

It is hard to belive that it has already been nine months. Where has the time gone!!?? Besides life just whizzing by it has been fairly normal around here.

Connor and I are getting ready to start school on Monday. We went and met one of the nice ladies that will be taking care of Connor while I am at school; he seemed to like her a lot! We dropped off his diapers (yes I have to use disposable) and extra clothe as well as a few pictures of Mommy and Daddy. All we have to do now is make it through the day on Monday!

Connor is doing great as usual. He spends most of his days playing with his toys. He has started to eat mainly table food. So when I make dinner I just modify what I am making and cut it up into small pieces and he eats it! He loves to pull himself up on anything that is close and can support his 20lbs. We go to the doctor on Tuesday for his 9 month check up!

Christian is doing well. Just working, working and more working. We get to talk to him a lot and we were able to Skype with him a few days ago. Connor got to show him all the new things that he has learned, Christian got a kick out of it. We sure do miss him.
Well that is about it, we are getting ready for Grandma Riley's visit at the end of the month and are looking forward to a successful first day of school for both of us.

Hello...

Well it has been a while! Christian has been in Korea for a little over a month now and Connor will be NINE months a week from Sunday. Connor and I are getting use to life without Daddy. Even though I think we are doing a great job we can’t wait to see him again! We are not sure when Christian is coming home yet but Connor and I will be moving to Korea once I graduate from college. It is going to be a really busy next couple of months.
Connor is doing great he crawls everywhere now. He can sit up from a crawl position and is starting to pull himself up on furniture. One day I walked into his room and he was standing up holding on to the side of the crib. Also he has gotten good at recognizing his name and rolling a ball to me. Connor has also decided that he likes to scream at the top of his lungs, normally he is just happy but man he is loud. Besides the fact that he says Mama and Dada, my new favorite is when you walk up to him, he puts his hands in the air to be picked up. It melts my heart each time. I know everyone told me, but I really cannot believe how much he has changed in the last 9 months.
Since Christian has left we have gone down to New Mexico to see my parents while we were there we introduced Connor to an important part of Nemec tradition. James McMurtry, he is a Texas country/rock singer out of Austin, we all enjoy his music so when we found out that he was playing in Albuquerque we thought, why NOT! So I went online and found his some ear protection (per his daddy’s request). Connor sleep through the whole concert did not make a noise. I woke him up at the end and introduced him to James; I think that I was the most excited out of the three of us. We also took Connor up to Wheatland Wyoming; this was his first time to the cabin. He loved it. The Best part was the second morning he decided that everyone needed to wake up at 6:30 in the morning! The cabin is rather small and he was singing on the top of his lungs!! But we all had a good time and he got to hang out with his Aunt and Uncle as well as Erin’s parents and her brother!
Christian is doing well; he moved into a new room and was upgraded to a full size bed, the perks of being a NCO!!  He also is enjoying his new job and cannot wait for Connor and me to get there! That’s about it. Hope all is well and of course there are pictures below!

It has been a while.

Well it has been over a month since my last blog and now that Christian is safely in Korea things here in Colorado have slowed down. So I thought that now that I have all this new free time I can finally update the blog. OK so......

On June 5th Connor was baptized at our Church here in the Springs, it was wonderful. Of course he was just perfect! Connor also got to meet more of his Great Grand parents. My Grandparents Memere and Pepere as well as Christian's Grandmother Dora. It was really neat for Connor to see them all. They stayed at the house with us so they got to spend a lot of time with him. Then after that The Riley's came back up for a week, we had a great time. We celebrated Gloria's birthday, we rented a cabin in a little mountain town called Buena Vista, it was beautiful. Then the next weekend Christian's close friend and his wife, Lauren and Nathan came to see us! We had a great time catching up. They came in real handy when Roxy got sick and we had to take her to the emergency vet! She had to stay the night but she is doing much much much better. After that we were off to my parents house for a few days around the fourth of July. It was great to see them as well as Connor's Uncle Ben. Of course Connor went swimming at Nana's and Papa's house. I would have to say that he is becoming a little fish, he loves the water! Then there was another milestone....Christian and I left Connor OVERNIGHT with my parents. They did a great job watching the little guy. I will admit I miss him a lot but it was nice to get away for the night. We really appreciated Ben, Mom and Dad taking such good care of him. Oh and sending me pictures of the little monkey:0)!! Then it was time to come back to the Springs and get ready to send Christian off.

July 9th Christian left for Korea, we miss him tons, but we are so blessed for all the time that we have spent as a family. I am a lucky army wife, yes my husband is gone but there are so many other wives out there that have it so much harder and it is humbling. I know Christian is just far away. And I know that I will get to see him again. Connor and I are staying busy and I know that this time apart will just fly by.Christian and I as well as Connor are so lucky to have such a wonderful family that is so supportive and caring. Thanks you all for all the warm wishes to Christian over the last few day. We love you all very much.

Connor is doing great he is turning into this happy, energetic, independent little boy. He is not crawling yet but man is he close. But don't worry he gets to where he needs to go! He loves to eat with his fingers and we have moved on to cheese, yogurt, meat, pasta and all the other fun foods. He babbles all the time now. He consistently says Dada and he has said Mama a few times. Connor loves to play with his toys as well as the dogs and the cat!

I know for sure that he is my son!! When I was about his age my Uncle Gary came in to get me after a nap, I had taken off my diaper and was covered in poop, well today history repeated itself. I went to get Connor after his morning nap and sure enough he had done the same thing. I guess the apple does not fall far from the tree. All I can say is this little guy does a great job at keeping me busy.  It still amazes me how much he has grown in the last few months. Well I think that I have summarized the last month and a half. Enjoy all the pictures below.
